Meanwhile, in a Chinese Zoo..

So this week, Ai-Ai the Chimp finally joined the rest of the civilized world and stopped smoking. According to Xiang Evening News, Ai-Ai started smoking after her hairy but charming first husband died in 1989. When her second husband died - possibly of second-hand smoke - it only got worse.

Now however, after 16 years, Ai-Ai the Chimp is finally smoke free. Zoo workers helped her cut the habit by offering a more varied daily routine, exercise, healthy food, and a patch on her shiny pink butt.

So the only thing left to ask, though, is this: Who the FUCK gives cigarettes to a freakin' Chimp!?

In other news, Norwegian Band Hurra Torpedo (And may I add: Very Very Strange Band Hurra Torpedo) is possibly going to tour the U.S! The band, consisting of Kristopher Schau, Egil Hegerberg and some other guy, had a show in New York last week. It went incredibly well and they are currently negotiating doing a full-scale U.S. tour.

The band plays a fairly peculiar style of music, namely "Rock on Kitchen Appliances". Instruments include stoves, dish washers and tumble driers.

"This music is not exactly simple and easy," says bass player Egil Hegerberg.

"We know that, since we're the ones who have to drag around a drum kit consisting of a freezer, three stoves, a washing machine, a hot water tank and a huge wheel from the Tønsberg harpoon factory. It is probably one of the least simple and easy things you can do. But it sounds really freaking cool."

The guys were invited to a party with music magazine Spin, and this is their red carpet picture:

What does this have in common with a smoking Chimp, I hear you ask? And the deceptively simple answer is: Not too much.

Needless to say, these guys are huge in Japan.
